Patricia McKenna seeks green party leadership

Patricia McKenna is looking for the 50 nominations required to throw her hat into the ring for the party leadership.

I think she had a serious case of sour grapes when she failed to get elected. I couldn't believe her standing outside the mansion house saying she voted no to the deal with FF. I doubt she would have done that had she been looking at a seat in government.

But more worryingly is that she is a bit of a loop-the-loop, saying No to MMR vaccinations etc.

Do the Green Party in government need a loose cannon leader who is not in government? I don't think so.

Thanks but no thanks Trish.

heartbroken

Seth Godin writes this week:

"Smart people are lucky: they can hold seemingly contradictory ideas in their head while they look more deeply into the facts and make good decisions... it's called nuance"

The greens are now in contradiction and the backlash is here.

Its been heartbreaking watching Sargent resign. There is no question he sacrificed himself for the party. It needed blood if it was to go in with Fianna Fail. If it couldn't get theirs it had to be ours.

I'm looking forward to seeing what junior ministry he gets though. Lets just say I wouldn't want to be the FF minister who has Trevez looking over his shoulder for the next five years :)
