E Class Mercedes Transport Spokesman

The Irish Times has an interesting poll of the Transport Spokespersons of various parties. Rosin Shortall (Labour) and Olvia Mitchell (Fine Gael) drive relatively modest Ford Focuses (foci?);Eamon Ryan (Green Party) doesn't own a car; Martin Cullen (Fianna Fail) gets driven about in an imposing gas guzzling Mercedes as per the custom. Most Interestingly Dublin North General Election candidate Tom Morrissey (Progressive Democrats) also drives a Mercedes. The more powerful ($$$) E280D. He's not entitled to a ministerial car so its his own. Well with a little a help from us of course through Morrissey's travel expenses.

Morrissey goes on to attack the Greens for their apparent prioritization of public transport over roads.
He may have forgotten he is standing in Dublin North this time out (confusing himself with past incarnations in Dublin West or South Dublin (for Fine Gael) perhaps). Does he think People living outside the M50 relish driving to town?

Tell it to the people from Howth to Balbriggan using train/Dart and the people from Swords to Blanchardstown waiting on busses Tom.

0 : what do you think?:
